EMPOWERING LOCAL JOURNALISM

Local News Studio is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of local multimedia news content while creating training opportunities for local independent journalists, nonprofit news organizations, and community news outlets in Southern California. Our goal is to give local reporters, aspiring journalists and nonprofit newsrooms the tools and resources to easily produce high-quality multimedia news about the communities they serve.

Our Mission

Our mission is to equip journalists with the tools, skills, and support needed to tell impactful stories through multimedia journalism. By providing state-of-the-art production resources and expert mentorship, we help level the playing field for local news organizations, freelancers, and journalism students who lack access to equipment, software and know-how.
